Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website setcalculators.com and the Set Calculator tool (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Set Calculator provides a free, browser-based tool for performing set operations (union, intersection, and difference) on user-supplied lists, together with related educational content and examples. Features may change, be limited, or be discontinued at any time.
2. Eligibility and acceptable use
You may use the Service only in compliance with these Terms and applicable law. You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape in a way that harms availability, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems.
- Interfere with security, rate limits, or access controls.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us.

3. No account required
The core calculator does not require an account. Any preferences stored on your device (for example theme or recent inputs) are subject to our Privacy Policy.
4. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, software, and documentation, is owned by the operators of Set Calculator or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may use the Service for personal or internal business purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Service’s branding, layout, or code except as permitted by law or with prior written consent.
Content you enter into the calculator remains yours. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to process that content and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights.
5. Third-party services and advertising
The Service may include third-party components such as fonts, analytics, advertising networks (including Google AdSense or similar), or infrastructure providers. Those third parties may have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party content, ads, or websites linked from the Service.
6. Educational and informational purpose only
Explanations, diagrams, and examples are provided for general educational and informational purposes. Results are generated from the inputs you provide. You are solely responsible for verifying that outputs are suitable for your use case (including academic, professional, or production use).
7. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATORS OF SET CALCULATOR AND THEIR AFFILIATES, CONTRIBUTORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (IF ANY) OR (B) TEN U.S. DOLLARS (US $10).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, the limitations apply only to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the operators of Set Calculator from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
10. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may update the Service or these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnity) will survive termination.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your place of residence require otherwise. Courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, subject to applicable mandatory rights.
