Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Set Calculator (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use setcalculators.com and related pages (the “Service”). We aim to keep the product simple and privacy-conscious: set operations run in your browser, and we do not require an account to use the calculator.

1. Who we are

The Service is operated under the name Set Calculator at https://setcalculators.com/. For privacy questions, use our Contact Us page.

2. Information we process

2.1 Calculator inputs (processed on your device)

When you enter lists into the calculator, those values are processed locally in your browser to produce union, intersection, or difference results. We do not operate a server-side API that receives your set contents solely in order to compute those results.

Optionally, the site may store recent inputs, output formatting choices, theme preference, and a “visited” flag in your browser’s localStorage so your session feels continuous when you return. That data stays on your device unless you clear site data or your browser settings remove it.

2.2 Information you send us directly

If you contact us (for example via the contact form, which opens your email client with a pre-filled message), we receive whatever you choose to include—typically your name, email address, subject, and message. We use that information only to respond and to handle your request.

2.3 Technical and usage data

Like most websites, our hosting and security providers may automatically process technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, requested URLs, timestamps, referrer, and approximate location derived from IP. This data is used to operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service.

2.4 Cookies, advertising, and analytics

The Service may use cookies or similar technologies for essential functionality and, where enabled, for advertising or measurement. In particular, we may use Google AdSense or similar partners to display ads. Those partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to show relevant ads, limit how often you see an ad, and measure effectiveness.

Google and other advertising partners may process data under their own policies. You can learn more about Google’s practices at Google Advertising and manage ad personalization via Google Ad Settings and industry tools such as aboutads.info.

We may also load third-party resources (for example web fonts) that can receive your IP address and standard request headers when your browser fetches those assets.

3. How we use information

We use information for the following purposes:

  • Provide the Service — deliver pages, calculator features, and theme preferences.
  • Communicate — respond to messages you send us.
  • Operate and secure — host the site, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and maintain availability.
  • Improve — understand aggregate usage and improve content and performance.
  • Advertise — where ads are shown, support delivery and measurement of advertising.
  • Legal compliance — comply with law, enforce terms, and protect rights and safety.

4. Legal bases (EEA/UK where applicable)

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we process personal data where:

  • Legitimate interests — operating a free public website, security, and basic analytics that do not override your rights.
  • Consent — where required for non-essential cookies, advertising, or similar technologies.
  • Contract / steps prior to contract — when handling a request you initiate.
  • Legal obligation — when we must retain or disclose information to comply with law.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information as a standalone product. We may share information with:

  • Service providers — hosting (for example Cloudflare), email, security, and similar vendors who process data on our behalf.
  • Advertising and analytics partners — such as Google, when ads or measurement are enabled.
  • Legal and safety — if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, users, or the public.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

6. International transfers

The Service may be hosted and accessed globally. If personal data is transferred across borders, we take steps designed to ensure an appropriate level of protection as required by applicable law (for example standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards used by our providers).

7. Retention

Browser localStorage data remains until you clear it or your browser removes it. Messages you send us are retained only as long as needed to handle your request and for legitimate business or legal records. Server logs and security records are retained for a limited period consistent with operational needs.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a small static web service (for example HTTPS and hosting provider controls). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; use the Service accordingly.

9. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

You can clear local site data through your browser settings. You can control many advertising cookies through the links in section 2.4. To exercise rights regarding information you sent us by email or form, contact us via the Contact Us page and describe your request.

California residents: We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising technologies may involve “sharing” or targeted advertising under some state laws; you can opt out of personalized ads using the industry and Google tools linked above and, where offered, site-level controls.

11. Do Not Track

There is no uniform industry standard for Do Not Track browser signals. We do not currently respond to DNT signals in a differentiated way beyond the privacy choices described in this policy.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected by posting the revised policy on this page. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.

13. Contact
