Use this calculator to find how many days fall between two calendar dates, plus a breakdown in weeks and a calendar span in years, months, and days. Choose a Start date and End date.

Select two dates to calculate the difference.

Differences use full calendar days in your local timezone. Order is normalized so the span is non-negative.

What is a date difference?

The date-to-date difference counts how many midnights pass between two calendar dates. It answers questions like “How many days until an exam?” or “How long did a project run?”

Example

From 1 January 2026 to 15 January 2026 there are 14 days (exactly 2 weeks).

From the same start to 1 March 2026 the day count is larger, and the calendar breakdown may show 2 months exactly (depending on month lengths).

How it works

Pick a start date and an end date. The calculator counts full calendar days between them in your local timezone and also shows whole weeks plus a years/months/days style breakdown where helpful. Results are computed in your browser — dates never leave your device.

Tips

  • Order is normalized so the span is non-negative.
  • Use it for project length, countdown days, or age in days.
  • For shifting a single date forward/back, use the add/subtract date calculator.
